Gareth William Schumacher

I am a recording engineer, songwriter, and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. I record/engineer/mix/produce other people's music under the name "The Panharmonicon", play guitar in Lantern Lights, and do a (secretive) solo project under my full name.

Very sad news. Thanks for the awesome recordings.

Update two: Lantern Lights rehearsals are progressing well. I think I’ve settled on my guitar signal chain so it’s probably time to start thinking about building a pedalboard.

Update #1: I’m finishing a new solo album. Kari plays flute (and snare) on a couple songs.

Studio stuff!

Several months ago I schlepped a bunch of recording gear down to Tangent Mind’s new offices on Washington Street in St. Louis, and just tried to make sure none of the levels clipped. I mixed some of it, but Will Jones really put the cream in the coffee on this one. Anyway, this is So Many Dynamos doing a new-ish song, “Matter of Fact,” that might be on their forthcoming EP. Enjoy!

tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

Legos.

A lot has been going on lately, might as well list it:

  • Lantern Lights released our first full-length album last weekend. Pretty crazy. We’re super proud of it and hope people like it.
  • The Panharmonicon is in limbo right now. My wife and I are moving to Los Angeles so there’s no telling what kind of studio situation I’ll be getting into.
  • Humdrum is putting the finishing touches on some new material and rehearsing in preparation for recording in Chicago in about three weeks. This is a BIG deal for us. More updates coming soon.
